Partnerships
QACI holds partnerships with a range of tertiary and industry bodies to enable students authentic learning experiences to best prepare them for life beyond school, and for fostering integral networks and opportunities for further study and employment. These include:
- QUT Creative Industries Faculty: our students are provided the opportunity to work with academics and university students utilising state-of-the-art facilities. Nestled within the heart of the Creative Industries precinct this provides our students proximity and exceptional networking opportunities for authentic post-school engagement.
- QUT Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI): students undertaking Extended Essays in Biology or Chemistry have the opportunity to pitch their topics to the IHBI team and then work with real-life application of laboratory science and innovation.
- Department of Education Creative Generation: each year a large number of QACI students audition for, and take part in C-Gen State Schools Onstage Spectacular. This opportunity provides students the chance to work with professional artistic directors and conductors in large-scale performance environments.
- Griffith University State Honours Ensemble Program: QACI music students have their talents fostered with our staff to take on the State Honours Ensemble Program, with successful students having the opportunity to take part in this prestigious music ensemble.
- University of Queensland Enhanced Studies Program: Year 11 and 12 students are offered the opportunity to take on a tertiary undergraduate subject in the areas of Business, Languages, STEM, People and Culture with this prestigious university whilst still in school.
- QUT Start Program: Year 11 and 12 students can take on the opportunity with QUT to undertake tertiary undergraduate subjects in the areas of Business, Creative Industries, Education, Engineering, Health, Law and Science. These programs offer students the benefit of deep learning in areas of interest whilst obtaining credit towards potential future undergraduate courses.
- Unleashing Personal Potential: As part of our over-arching student leadership program, the UPP team works with our students to dig deep into what it means to be a young leader, and untapping the potential for our future leaders to step up in school and beyond.
- Artists in Residence: Throughout the year our students have the chance to learn from working professionals across Dance, Film, Music, Theatre, Visual Art and Design. By embedding professionals into the curriculum our students undertake they are able to see the real-life application of their arts in play.
- Vocal Manouvres Academy:
Alison Rogers from Vocal Manouvres Academy instructs students at QACI in both the Vocal Collective and the audition VOX choral groups.
