In the spirit of reconciliation, QACI acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Welcome to Queensland Academies Creative Industries Campus (QACI).
QACI is a selective-entry senior secondary school for highly capable learners who want to be challenged, explore ideas and shape their futures. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we offer a rigorous, broad-based academic education that prepares students for university and beyond. Our students bring curiosity, ambition and creativity to their learning, developing the critical thinking, independence and global perspectives to navigate complexity, embrace new possibilities and make a meaningful contribution to the world
Our Statement of Purpose
QACI is a proudly inclusive community of innovative and creative thinkers who seek opportunities to ignite their curiosity, develop global and intercultural perspectives and foster a love of lifelong learning.
Our Vision
Challenging globally minded learners to question, create and contribute to a better world.
Our vision captures what we want for every QACI learner. We want our students to question assumptions, explore ideas, embrace challenges and use their knowledge, creativity and capabilities to make a meaningful contribution to the world.
Our Values
Curiosity. Agency. Creativity. Inclusivity.
These values shape who we are and how we learn, work and connect as a community. We encourage students to ask questions, take ownership of their learning, explore new possibilities and recognise the value of different perspectives and experiences. We want every student to feel a sense of belonging and have the confidence to contribute, take risks and pursue their ambitions.
Our Sense of the Goose Philosophy
Our Sense of the Goose captures how we learn, work and achieve together at QACI. Like geese flying in formation, we recognise that we can go further when we support one another, share responsibility and work towards a common purpose. We encourage our community to accept challenges, embrace opportunities and recognise that everyone's contribution matters.

Our Motto
Create the Future. Make a Difference.
Our motto captures the aspiration we hold for every QACI learner. We want our students to imagine possibilities, pursue ideas with purpose, and use their knowledge, creativity and capabilities to help shape a better future.
QACI’s culture aligns with the aim of the International Baccalaureate Organisation to: Develop internationally minded people, who recognising their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. (IB Learner Profile)
Learning at QACI
At QACI, learning is about more than acquiring knowledge. It is about asking better questions, making connections, exploring complex ideas and developing the confidence to think independently. We want students to be intellectually challenged, creatively inspired and equipped to take their learning in new directions.
At QACI, creativity is integral to how we think, learn, and engage with the world. It transcends disciplines, bringing together imagination, critical thinking, curiosity, and the confidence to explore new possibilities. Our students are encouraged to make connections between ideas, question assumptions, approach complex problems from different perspectives and develop original ways of thinking. This approach to learning enables students to combine academic rigour with creative thinking, preparing them to navigate complexity, embrace change and shape what comes next.
As an IB World School, we offer the IB Diploma Programme, a rigorous and internationally recognised qualification that prepares students for university and for the opportunities and challenges beyond school. The programme combines breadth and depth of study, challenging students to engage across disciplines. Through sustained inquiry, independent research and the application of knowledge to complex questions, students develop the critical thinking, intellectual independence and organisational skills that support success in further study.
The IB experience extends beyond individual subjects. Through Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), students examine how knowledge is constructed, undertake independent academic research and connect learning with creativity, activity, and service. They learn to question ideas, consider different perspectives, communicate effectively, and take greater responsibility for their learning.
The value of this preparation is reflected in Australian research. A national study conducted by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) found that IB Diploma graduates achieved significantly higher rates of university admission, progression, and completion than students from non-IB pathways. While every student's journey is different, this research reinforces the value of an educational experience that develops the knowledge, independence and learning skills needed to navigate university and beyond.
At QACI, our teachers bring this learning to life through a commitment to high-quality, coherent teaching, learning, and assessment. Students are encouraged to inquire, think conceptually, take intellectual risks and approach problems creatively. Rather than simply recalling information, they learn to question ideas, make connections, develop arguments, and apply their understanding in meaningful ways.
Just as important is the community in which this learning takes place. QACI brings together highly capable, curious, and creative young people who share a willingness to learn, explore, and challenge themselves. Learning alongside like-minded peers creates opportunities to test ideas, discover different perspectives and be inspired by the ambitions and achievements of others. Our dedicated educators encourage students to extend their capabilities and provide the guidance and feedback they need to grow.
Opportunities Beyond the Classroom
A QACI education extends beyond the curriculum. Our connections with universities, industry and the wider community provide opportunities for students to encounter new ideas, explore potential pathways, and connect their learning with the world beyond school. These experiences broaden perspectives, introduce students to emerging fields and help them imagine how their interests and capabilities might shape their futures.
Our campus provides contemporary facilities, specialised learning spaces and resources that support the academic, creative and collaborative dimensions of the QACI experience. Students have opportunities to develop ideas, experiment, collaborate and apply their learning in different contexts.
Our wider community also plays an important role in school life. Families, our active P&C, alumni and community partners contribute to the opportunities and relationships that make QACI a connected and engaging place to learn. Together, we create an environment in which students can pursue their interests, contribute their talents and develop a sense of responsibility beyond themselves.
We recognise that high expectations and strong support go hand in hand. Our inclusive culture, positive relationships and commitment to student wellbeing help create an environment where students feel known, connected and supported as they navigate the demands of senior secondary learning. We want every student to have the opportunity to extend their potential, develop a strong sense of agency and find their place within our community.
Ultimately, we want QACI graduates to leave with more than a strong academic foundation. We want them to be creative and critical thinkers, confident communicators, compassionate community members, and globally minded young people who are ready to navigate change, embrace opportunities and contribute to a better world.
QACI is a school I am immensely proud to lead. Our strength lies in the talent and commitment of our staff, the ambition and individuality of our students, and the partnerships we share with families and the wider community. Together, we create a learning environment where young people are challenged to think deeply, encouraged to explore what is possible and supported to make their mark on the world.
If you are looking for a school that will challenge you, inspire your curiosity and open up new possibilities for your future, I invite you to discover what makes QACI such a distinctive learning community.
