Queensland Academies Creative Industries (QACI) is:

  • an Education Queensland selective entry co-educational, government high school for students in their senior years (Years 10 to 12).

Our students study:

  • an Education Queensland Curriculum extension program that prepares students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program for both domestic and international enrolments in Year 10, and
  • the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) for both domestic and international enrolments in Years 11 and 12.

International student applications are only accepted to commence enrolment into Term 1, Year 10. All students must complete Year 10 with us, in preparation for completing the IB Diploma Programme in Years 11 and 12.

We are excited to offer opportunities for international students to join our vibrant community and expand our global connections.

All of our students are highly capable learners - they have high academic ability, are high achieving, and are highly motivated to learn.

All students at QACI study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), a rigorous learning and assessment program recognised globally, providing access to the world's leading universities.

Our graduates study at universities across Queensland, Australia and internationally in all areas of study; science, arts, law, business, health, education and more.

Our students benefit from:

  • learning with and from other like-minded, highly capable learners.
  • our unique partnerships with the Queensland University of Technology, the University of Queensland and Griffith University, to provide a seamless transition between senior school and university.
  • working closely with our teaching and non-teaching staff, in small groups and in one-on-one mentoring, to ensure students balance the challenges of the IB Diploma Programme with other pursuits.
  • our wellbeing and academic support programs, and co-curricular opportunities: that foster a sense of belonging, and encourage personal growth and academic success.
  • our non-competitive environment. All of our students are recognised as highly capable learners, and valued as individuals who are motivated to learn, develop collaborative skills and aspire to achieve personal excellence. Our students are not competing for a finite number of top scores.
  • our unique learning environment: we are a senior years only school, with world-class learning facilties, in the Queensland University of Technology creative industries precinct.
Our campus has the capacity to enrol 519 students in Years 10, 11 and 12, accepting up to 15 international students across the senior years.

Our international students are fully immersed in our inclusive classes and campus community. They learn together with students who value critical thinking, creative thinking, international-mindedness and the attributes of the IB Learner: being open-minded, balanced, knowledgeable, principled and reflective communicators, thinkers, inquirers and risk-takers. Our inclusive and supportive culture is highly regarded by international students.
