Join us for Arriving at…, the 2025 Queensland Academies Creative Industries Dance production, showcasing original works from Year 10, 11 and 12 students.
This vibrant program features postmodern group choreography, contemporary and reimagined duets, and thought-provoking ensemble pieces. Year 12 students present both revisited and new works, culminating in a self-devised group dance. Year 11 explores the theme of “airport” through the lens of postmodern pioneers such as Merce Cunningham, Pina Bausch, Twyla Tharp and Lloyd Newson. Year 10 students respond to greetings and farewells, creating emotive duets inspired by audio, visual, and textile stimuli.
Throughout Terms 2 and 3, students have challenged traditional dance expectations, focusing on intention, communication, and creative risk-taking. Arriving at… celebrates the artistic growth, collaboration, and bold expression of QACI’s emerging choreographers and performers.
