“Although my focus at QACI was theatre, the whole QACI experience helped me learn different ways of thinking and communicating which have helped me immensely in building my career in science. QACI provided an incredibly well-rounded high school experience and I will always think very highly and fondly of my time there.”- Chloe O’Reilly, June 2026

Since graduating from QACI in 2015, Chloe has built a career driven by a passion for environmental stewardship, scientific inquiry and creating a more sustainable future. Her journey reflects the power of combining academic curiosity with a commitment to making a meaningful impact in the world around us.

Following her time at QACI, Chloe pursued studies in biological science and ecology at QUT, Brisbane, developing expertise in biodiversity, environmental management and sustainability. Through both research and field-based experiences as an Environmental Advisor with TasWater and currently an Environmental Officer with APA Group, she cultivated the analytical skills and resilience required to address some of the most complex environmental challenges facing communities and industries today. Her work has included ecological field surveys, environmental assessments and providing strategic advice to support informed environmental decision-making.

Alongside her professional work, she completed advanced research studies, recently celebrating the completion of her thesis and doctoral studies. This achievement reflects years of dedication to expanding knowledge and contributing to evidence-based solutions in the environmental sector.

Today, Chloe works within the energy and sustainability sector, applying her expertise to support responsible environmental outcomes while contributing to Australia's transition toward a more sustainable future. Her career demonstrates how scientific understanding, critical thinking and collaboration can create positive change across industries and communities.

Chloe's story is a wonderful example of how QACI graduates pursue their passions beyond the classroom. Through her dedication to biological and environmental science, research and sustainability, she continues to embody the curiosity, creativity and global-mindedness that are hallmarks of a QACI education.
