Lachlan Snow

2008 QACI Foundation Alumni
Philanthropy and Music

"QACI was a gentle disrupter for 16-year old me. The rigour of the International Baccalaureate curriculum and the guidance of dedicated teachers combined with a high achieving cohort, who were all exploring their places in the world, made for an enriching and eye opening two years. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to join this very special community.“ – Lachlan Snow, 2026

For Lachlan Snow, the arts have always been about more than performance. They are a powerful way to bring people together, build community and create lasting impact.

Since graduating from Queensland Academies Creative Industries, Lachlan has built a career that combines his passion for music, education and social impact. Whether working with artists, young people, donors or community organisations, he has remained committed to strengthening connections and creating opportunities for others to thrive.

After QACI, Lachlan pursued a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts at The University of Queensland, graduating with First Class Honours before completing a Graduate Diploma of Education. His love of learning later led him to undertake a Master of Business Administration, expanding his ability to lead organisations and deliver meaningful outcomes across the arts and not-for-profit sectors.

Throughout his career, Lachlan has championed the role of arts and culture in enriching communities. From leading music education and performance initiatives to directing choirs and supporting some of Australia's leading cultural organisations, he has worked to ensure that creative experiences remain accessible, inclusive and transformative.

His professional journey has spanned organisations including Musica Viva Australia, Story Factory, Equality Australia and Perpetual, where he currently works in philanthropy. Across these roles, Lachlan has helped connect people, ideas and resources to support education, creativity and positive social change. Alongside his professional work, he continues to contribute to the cultural sector as a conductor, artistic director, mentor and community advocate.

What connects each stage of Lachlan's journey is a belief in the power of relationships. Whether building support for a charitable cause, leading a musical ensemble or creating opportunities for young people, he understands that meaningful impact begins with listening, collaboration and shared purpose.

For current QACI students, Lachlan's story is a reminder that creativity can lead to careers far beyond the stage or studio. The skills developed through the arts -communication, empathy, leadership and collaboration - have the power to influence communities, organisations and lives.

His journey demonstrates that when passion is combined with purpose, creativity becomes a catalyst for change.
