Queensland Academy of Creative Industries and the Year 10 Theatre Ensemble are proud to present two, contemporary Australian plays for the Year 10 Production in 2026.

Charlie Pilgrim (or a beginner’s guide to time travel) by Sam O’Sullivan is an imaginative, fast-paced adventure that explores the extraordinary possibilities and unexpected consequences of time travel. When young inventor Charlie discovers a way to travel through time, a journey unfolds that challenges everything they thought they knew about the past, present and future. Blending science fiction, humour and heartfelt moments, the play explores themes of identity, friendship and the choices that shape who we become. At its heart lies one intriguing question: if you could change the past, would you?

Girl Asleep, by Matthew Whittet, is an endearing story of a young woman called Greta, on the precipice of change. While Greta navigates emerging friendships at a new school, her 15th birthday party, which is thrust upon her by her overprotective parents, leads to a magical intervention forcing her to come to terms with the inescapable force of change. Set to a rocking 70s soundtrack, Girl Asleep will keep you grooving and smiling along to the likes of Blondie and KISS.

Don’t miss this chance to experience 2 stunning, Australian plays produced by our upcoming Theatre stars.

The P&C will have refreshments available for purchase prior to the performance and during the interval.

QACI Music students will perform pre-show in the level 1 Gallery space.

Considerations: Theatrical blackouts, strobe lighting and haze
