​Congratulations to the 2023 QACI International Baccalaureate Diploma Graduates on their fantastic outcomes. We can't wait to follow our alumni journeys and share your stories with our QACI Community.

14% of our graduates achieved an IB40+ score. This International Baccalaureate score equates to the ATAR equivalent of 97+.

52% of our graduates achieved an IB34+ score. This International Baccalaureate score equates to the ATAR equivalent of 90+.

85% of our graduates achieved and IB29+ score. This International Baccalaureate score equates to the ATAR equivalent of 80+.

A special shout out to all of our IB40+ achievers! Incredible work and a wonderful achievement.

Jessica Stone IB 40

Jessica plans on working full time in a Government Administration role as she embarks on her Gap Year. The following year she will be studying a Bachelor of Law and Humanities at the University of Queensland.
When reflecting on her most memorable moments at QACI Jessica said “a fun fact about my time at school would be when I launched a coup in my Year 10 Global Politics Class Election.”

Angelene Tan IB 40

During her time at QACI Angelene received many awards for Academic Excellence in Year 11 and 12. Her aspirations for the future are to pursue a career in dentistry.
Reflecting on her time at QACI, Angelene cites, “my time at QACI definitely consisted of a lot of work, but was made easy from the amazing supportive community!"

Aniese Uppal IB 40

In 2023, Aniése was awarded for Academic Excellence and a subject first for Business Management SL.
She has accepted an offer to study a Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Arts majoring in Spanish at the University of Queensland (UQ). Aniése intends to further her language studies with the international exchange opportunities at UQ.

“I have many highlights from my time at QACI thanks to the extremely supportive school culture and community, including my teachers and friends who made my years at QACI so enjoyable.”

Isis Moran IB 40

During Year 12 at QACI, Isis was awarded Academic Excellence and Inspired Learner. Isis is enrolled in a Bachelor of Law at The Australian National University, with the hopes of studying a Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability in the future.
“I absolutely adored my time at QACI and am so thankful for its role in teaching me about time management and perseverance. Along with the skills it gifted me with, QACI also allowed me to develop lifelong friendships and connections which I will cherish forever.”

Rachel Lam IB 40

Rachel is pursuing a career in engineering and science as she received a Merit Scholarship and early entry into a double degree in these fields. She has aspirations to major in medical engineering and chemistry.

In Year 10, 11 and 12 Rachel was awarded Academic Excellence.

“My experience at QACI was incredible and definitely shaped by my teachers and my peers. I’m beyond grateful for the teachers, especially in the science faculty, who have always encouraged, supported and inspired me, so a big shoutout to Ms Sharp and Mr Getto!”

Srividya Kariot IB 43

This year, Srividya will be training to obtain a Commercial Pilot License. She hopes to complete a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering in the future.   

In Year 12 alone, Srividya was awarded Academic Excellence, Spirit of QACI and a subject first for Design Technology HL.

“From Mug Mondays to product pitches, my time at QACI has made an indelible impression on me. I am grateful for the persisting efforts of my teachers in chasing deadlines, and my friends for every last-minute study session that got us through the final exams.”

Holly De Freitas Pessoa IB 41

Holly is off to pursue a career in clinical psychology, with a focus on childhood development. She is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at the University of Queensland.   

My time a QACI was a rollercoaster, and there were many times I doubted myself, but what kept me going were the amazing teachers. Particularly Ms Sharp and Ms Amouzandeh, who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.”

Claire Bai IB 41

Claire is fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a vet and is enrolled in a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) at the University of Queensland.  

In Year 11 and 12, she was awarded Academic Excellence, a subject first for Spanish SL in Year 11 and Spirit of QACI in Year 10.  During her time at QACI Claire was also a valuable member of the student media team, capturing the essence that is QACI.

“My time at QACI was so rewarding, and made me a more confident, hardworking person and student. I can’t thank my teachers enough for their support! My favourite QACI moments were definitely the House events, finishing the IB and fun times with friends.”

Annie Chen IB 43

In Year 12 alone, Annie won Awards for Academic Excellence, Spirit of QACI and a subject first for Spanish SL.  Annie aspires to complete a degree in the STEM field and is excited to see where the future takes her.  
“I’m incredibly grateful to have been surrounded by such supportive, talented and precious people, everyone in the QACI community inspires me daily. My journey was amazing, filled with genuine joy, laughter, valuable learnings and most importantly, unforgettable memories! I really wish I could travel back to the start of my QACI journey just like Jake and Adi did in Kelsey’s heart-touching film shown at our Graduation.”

Alex Holdcroft IB 43

Alex is enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Mathematics at the University of Queensland. She plans to study a Diploma of Languages to continue her Spanish studies.   In her final year at QACI, Alex was awarded Academic Excellence and subject firsts for English Language and Literature SL and Psychology HL.

“I’m very grateful that I had the opportunity to be part of such a lovely community, and for the support, dedication and kindness of my wonderful teachers!”

Katrina Dang IB 43

Katrina is planning to study a Bachelor of Commerce/Laws (Honours) at the University of Queensland.   Over her three years at QACI, she was awarded Academic Excellence, a subject first for Business Management HL in Year 11 and 12. Katrina was also Vivezza House Manager in Year 11, a member of the debating teams, and a member of the QACI Student Media Team for the 3 years she was at QACI.

“My fondest QACI memories are when I dissolved into a blubbering mess after my summative English IO, the legendary Mr Ding, eardrum-blasting birthday songs in Mandarin class and my terribly procrastinated but highly rewarding Business Management EE on LVMH.”

Harper Mikkelsen IB 43

Harper is enrolled in an engineering degree at the University of Queensland. He hopes to possibly pursue a career in this field or explore entrepreneurial and creative avenues in a professional context.

During his time at QACI, Harper was known for his musical prowess and for consistent Academic Excellence awards. In Year 12, he received subject firsts for Music HL, Psychology HL and Spanish HL. In Year 11 he received subject firsts for Music HL, Spanish HL and Chemistry HL. And in Year 10 he received subject firsts for Music, Science and Spanish Advanced.

Leo Willacy IB 44

Leo is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Advanced Science at the University of Queensland, with a plan to major in cell biology. During his final year at QACI he received an Academic Excellence Award and subject firsts for Global Politics HL and Spanish Ab Initio.

During his time in year 11, Leo was Awarded Academic Excellence.

“I would say that my teachers were the people that allowed me to really enjoy my subjects, making my journey at QACI both rewarding and enjoyable. QACI showed me my love for so many different subject areas and my time at QACI is what pushed me to pursue science at university.”

Emma Zeng IB 43

In Year 12 alone, Emma was awarded Academic Excellence, Spirit of QACI, Academic Student of the Year and subject firsts for Biology HL and Psychology HL. Emma was an active student within the QACI community who continually acted with integrity and compassion and exemplified the IB Leaner Profile attributes. Emma was a member of the Debating Team and the QACI Student Media Team, taking on the role of coordinating and creating the QACI Student Yearbook.

“I’m incredibly grateful for QACI’s learning environment - especially how QACI embraces having a true passion for learning, rather than expecting perfection. I’ll carry this love for learning with me, as well as my gratitude for my teachers and peers, wherever I go.”

Piper Boyd IB 43

Piper is enrolled in a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and a Diploma of Languages (French) at the University of Queensland.  In Year 12, she was awarded Academic Excellence and subject firsts for Environmental Systems and Societies SL, Mathematics Analysis and Approaches SL and French Ab Initio SL.

“My fondest memories at QACI include all the support in the classroom from  my teachers and peers. They made me who I am today and gave me the confidence to be myself.”

Sasha Brewin Brown IB 41

In her final year, Sasha was awarded Academic Excellence and a subject first for Dance HL.  She is enrolled in a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Creative Industries at Queensland University of Technology.

“What I really valued about my time at QACI was the close connections that I made with the people around me, and the way it felt as if we were all supporting one another - that kind of environment where everybody wants the best for one another is really special.

Henry Wang IB 45

In 2023 alone, Henry was awarded Academic Excellence, Academic Student of the Year and subject firsts for Mathematics HL Analysis and Approaches, Chemistry HL, Physics HL and Psychology SL. Henry was an active member of the community participating in the Debating Team and was a member of the Student Media Team.
During his time in Year 10 and 11, Henry consistently achieved Academic Excellence and subject first awards.

He has been offered a place in the University of Queensland (UQ) Doctor of Medicine Program (Provisional Entry for School Leavers) and is starting his university journey in a Bachelor of Biomedical Science. Henry also received a UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for his studies.

Asha Metcalfe IB 45

Asha is passionate about global politics and international relations and is looking forward to studying political and social science in either the United States or United Kingdom.   In her final year at QACI, she was awarded Academic Excellence, Academic Student of the Year, ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award and subject firsts for Biology SL and Theatre HL. Asha also played the lead role of Morticia in the QACI Music, The Addams Family.

“My fondest memories of QACI will always be the dedicated teachers and my incredible friends. I spent almost as much time in the theatre rehearsing as I did in the classroom! The arts helped me succeed, so I encourage everyone to find the creative outlet that helps them express themselves.”
