Briana Goodchild graduated from Queensland Academies Creative Industries (QACI) in 2012 after achieving her International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and developing a signature creative identity in Theatre and Film.
Choosing to pursue her passion for Film, and as a recipient of the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Vice Chancellor’s Academic Scholarship, Briana studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts of Film TV and New Media Production graduating with distinction in 2015.
Amidst the first semester of her final year at QUT Briana researched industry opportunities and landed an internship with the Brisbane based film production company Two Little Indians. Within a couple of months, and still a semester away from graduation, Briana was offered an ongoing position as the company’s Junior Staff Writer and Production Assistant; a role that has provided some great opportunities for Briana to develop her skill base and industry connections. With experience in research, on-set running, writing, pitching, continuity, art department, and production, Briana has worked across a range of platforms including TVCs, music videos, corporate still-shoots, TV pilots, and feature films.
Briana’s most recent opportunity has been to pitch her own original TV series concepts to Two Little Indians. One of the concepts was picked up and since been pitched to Channel 7 Network who expressed interest and requested to read a pilot. Currently Briana is writing a TV series on the side whilst finishing the script and pitching to all the networks. Such is the creative energy of this young alumnus.
We took the time to catch up with Briana. Listen to what she has to say.
