Since graduating from Queensland Academies Creative Industries (QACI)
in 2011, Arkie has completed a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts Fashion Design and Marketing at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), whilst studying Fashion Design she took the opportunity to undertake a University Exchange to study Textile Design in New Delhi, India at the National Institute of Fashion Technology.

This experience spring boarded Arkie’s interest in print and textile development and largely informed her artistic fashion practice. Having completed a graduate fashion collection she has continued to expand on her concept, using her Indigenous Heritage to inform print and aesthetic development to create self-named label, Arkie. Now in the process of developing her first range to go into production, Arkie is hoping that her label can create a platform for Mainstream Australians to better understand contemporary Indigenous Australian culture.

Arkie has worked consistently within the fashion industry throughout her studies, recently starting full-time work as a Womenswear Designer for City Beach. Having been inspired as an international learner from early years at QACI Arkie has continued to approach her career development with an established creative and global force.
