Well done Darcey and Millicent on your EVATT UN Security Council Semi-Final Contest

Congratulations to QACI students Darcey Lee and Millicent Biggs who competed in the Semi-Finals of the EVATT competition, representing Ukraine earlier this term. Darcey and Millie should be commended for their efforts as they represented QACI well, amongst some extremely tough senior high school competition.

More than 2000 students compete in EVATT each year. The Evatt is a Model United Nations Security Council diplomacy competition for students in Years 9-12. The competition takes the form of a mock session of the UN Security Council with students debating, amending, and voting on a prepared resolution from the perspective of their assigned nation; the girls delivering speeches on topics and resolutions such as The annexation of Crimea and Political espionage.

Darcey and Millicent made it through to the semi finals, competing against some of Brisbane’s finest students, including our colleagues from the Queensland Academies Science, Mathematics and Technology Campus.
