Queensland Academies Creative Industries Campus would like to congratulate Year 12 Theatre and Film Student, Chris Patrick (nee Hansen) on his recent accomplishments performing in Beenleigh Theatre Company’s production of ‘The Lord of the Flies’. In late October 2017, Chris auditioned for this performance on the basis that the rehearsals would be during the holiday period.
One of the most exciting moments during his rehearsal period, Patrick claims ‘in the group call-back for Lord of the Flies I got to see a bunch of other student actors – many of whom became the cast member of the show – exploring the script. I saw a scene that I auditioned for portrayed in seven / eight different ways – and some portrayals I could never have possibly imagined.”
Chris has enjoyed his experience and has been performing since 19 January, with the final curtain call taking place over the recent weekend (Sat 3 Feb).
Whilst a disappointment that we missed seeing Chris in this performance of The Lord of the Flies, he has another opportunity with the Phoenix Ensembles’ musical adaptation of Big Fish – Directed by Tammy Linde and Benjamin Tubb-Hearne, performing in the role of Don Price and the Red Fang. Great news here is that tickets to this performance will be available to purchase soon with performances commencing in April. Visit http://www.phoenixensemble.com.au/bigfish/ for more information.
