Opportunities are abundant. Everywhere. It’s just a case of knowing where to look. Jasmine Regan Feldman, Year 12 has offered to share her reflection on an opportunity she has taken to further enhance her education and journey on the path to a love of learning. Whilst studying at QACI, Jasmine has been provided the opportunity to study as a part-time University student in one of their courses. Here is her reflection…
I wanted to let you know about an amazing opportunity to go to University a year early. An opportunity available for Year 12 students, with an application submitted at the end of Year 11.
Last week I enrolled as a part-time Uni student to study the first semester of an Archaeology Bachelor of Arts Degree, as part of the Extended Studies Programme (ESP) offered at University of Queensland. With a love of history, I wanted to increase my learning and improve my options to receive a bonus score when I later apply for my University course at the end of this school year.
If you have a passion for a subject, or simply want to see what University is like, I would highly recommend applying for one of a large range of courses available to students like us! The courses run for Semester 1 of Year 12. Applications to the ESP program are open towards the end of the year, so if you are currently in Year 11, look into applying at the end of this year to experience University life a year early!
The application process is relatively simple. You submit your grades with an approval from the school. I’d recommend checking out all the different courses that you can apply for including: Psychology, Marketing, Languages, Creative Writing, Criminology and many more. It’s a fantastic opportunity so I would highly recommend that you apply!
