On Saturday 26th August, the astonishing installation pieces of this year’s graduating cohort was on display in Gallery 61. The opening night, which saw the presence of renowned practicing visual artist Claudia Husband; formally trained in printmaking both here in Brisbane and in the United States. Claudia opened the evening and commenced the celebrations and excitement giving the young artists the opportunity to discuss their work with spectators and share the experience of appraising their artwork – showcasing the extremely high calibre of QACI’s IB Visual Arts course.
The students’ three-year studies in the International Baccalaureate is reflected through the diverse and creative perspectives in the 30 artworks on display. Social, historical, cultural and environmental issues were explored and the uniqueness of each piece’s vision was unprecedented. The exhibit will be available for public viewing until Friday 6th October.
exIBit is only Part One of Triptych 2017. Showcase, for music, was held Friday 1st September and Cinematica, Year 12 film, will be screened Thursday 5th October. Please reserve tickets.
