Open Days and Enrolment Information

What is the process for applying to attend QACI?

We are a selective entry independent public school for senior high school students studying in year 10 – 12, therefore entry is not automatic or based on an enrolment catchment area.

We have a single point of entry into the program at the start of year 10. The application process is designed to be undertaken by students in Queensland in Year 9 (or age or education program equivalent) for entry at the commencement of Term 1 of Year 10. Students who choose to seek entry into QACI after completing Year 10 (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply, but must complete the full three year program.

We aim to provide an exciting opportunity for you as a Queensland Academies student. As a member of our learning community you will understand that to be successful, you need to be self-disciplined, resilient and well-rounded, focussed yet flexible. Our admissions process is designed with a high level of personalised service and integrity in order to ensure that our selected students are well prepared for these challenges.

We invite you to attend our annual Open Day on Saturday 3 March, 12:00pm – 3:00pm in order to familiarise yourself with our learning environment and meet members of our team who are only too happy to support you through the Admissions process.

We also have the exciting opportunity and would like to invite you to attend our complimentary Discovery Workshops that are helping current students in Years 8 and 9 explore their potential across the International Baccalaureate curriculum. These workshops will run on Saturday 3 March 2018 at repeated intervals of 10:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

There are no knowledge or experience prerequisites that apply to Discovery Workshops. Designed using a cooperative approach that merges elements from different subjects these hands-on workshops provide opportunities for lateral, collaborative, and creative thinking in fun and engaging ways with our world-class educators.

Current Years 8 and 9 students can actively engage in one or two individual sessions. The workshops, comprising of the same content will be repeated at the set interval times.
