Queensland Academies Creative Industries (QACI) Library provides students and staff access to specific resources to support the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, with electronic and print resources to provide students with relevant, current and curriculum tailored information.
Students can also apply to become associate members of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Kelvin Grove Library and participate in an induction program which includes visits to the newly redesigned library and presentations from QUT Library staff, designed to enhance research skills. The QUT Library is in close proximity and students are encouraged to borrow resources for their research assignments. Students are also given the opportunity to become members of the State Library of Queensland which gives access to online databases, as part of their enrolment process.
As well as subject-specialised print resources, the library provides access to a number of online databases including EBSCO Academic Search Premier, EBSCO Film and Television Literature Index, and JSTOR to support subject assignments as well as Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge research.
The library is an ambient space, providing a relaxed and purpose specific design to support our students in their learning, and is accessible before and after school and during recess, as well as for independent study and classes throughout the day. QACI’s library assists students to become highly proficient in information research and to develop information literacy knowledge and skills which are essential for successful study and continual lifelong learning.
