Year 12 Families,
Welcome to the final year of the IB journey! It is an absolute privilege to work with your student this year as the Year 12 Coordinator for 2020. For those who do not know me, my name is Carolyn Kepczyk, and I am a foundation staff member here at QACI, teaching Business and Inner Core.
Year 12 is a very exciting and challenging year for our young people. The light at the end of their secondary school career is quickly becoming visible. My goal is to help students to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. The teachers at QACI will continue to stretch their experiences in a rigorous, relevant, and real-world environment.
Students are fortunate to face numerous opportunities that I encourage them to embrace and pursue. As an IB student and future global citizen, it is important to remember that learning is more than the sum of what happens in a classroom.
This will be the first of many ‘lasts’ for Year 12s at QACI: BBQs, Assemblies, Aquafest, Runfest, Talentfest, Ensembles, Exhibitions and Rehearsals. I urge students to cherish all these wonderful memory-making occasions which will leave a lasting impression on them. In years to come, their memories will be of the amazing experiences, special friends and wonderful, caring teachers. These memories will exist long after the haze of the November exam schedule concludes.
I have been immensely proud of the work and progress of this cohort and I very much look forward to working with the students, parents / carers, staff and community for their final school year. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me throughout the school year.
