Queensland Academies Creative Industries Campus would like to invite you to the Year 12 Butoh Theatre Production, Kannon.
Devised in collaboration with Year 12 Theatre Students and directed by acclaimed international artist, Mark Hill, Kannon draws upon the students' own experiences to explore the Buddhist God of Compassion and Mercy. In the cycle of life and death [Samsara], we experience moments of both happiness and hardship; the Japanese believe Kannon will help in our moments of hardship as her scriptures teach people how to be happy and how to deal with the things that challenge us.
Performed by the ensemble of Year 12 Theatre students in the unique style of Japanese Theatre, Butoh, Kannon will delight and surprise audiences in the intimate setting of the QACI Studio.
Performances will take place in the QACI on Thursday 4 March, Friday 5 March and Saturday 6 March at 6.30pm.
