Introducing Year 11 Year Level Coordinator
would like to send out a warm welcome to all. This is going to be a
great year and I am very excited by my appointment as the Year 11
Coordinator for the 2019 school year. I have been blessed as I have
already had the chance to develop meaningful relationships with many of
our students, having had the opportunity to work with many of them in
some capacity over the past year.
just a bit about me: I come to this role with a background in Student
Wellbeing and Pastoral Care, built from both formal studies in
Psychology and Counselling and experience as Year Level Coordinator and
Senior Teacher. For me, the most rewarding part of being a teacher has
been to develop meaningful relationships with students as they journey
towards realising their potential.
11 is going to be quite an exciting year and students may be feeling
both eager and anxious as they formally begin their IB journey. These
are quite normal responses and part of my role is help them embrace the
challenges that comes from a course that is rigorous, relevant, and
connected. My goal is to enable students to meet the challenges of
academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. As an
IB student and future Global citizen, it is important to remember that
learning is more than the sum of what happens in a classroom. The
swimming carnival, Leadership Camp, arts excursions, guest speakers,
competitions, health and well-being activities are opportunities for
students to connect with others and create memories that will exist long
after the year.
your son/daughter’s Coordinator, my role will be to act as a liaison
between home and school to ensure student well-being is at the centre of
your child’s progress throughout the year. My
door is always open; please feel free to contact me if you should have
any concerns about your son/daughter.
