Year 10 Families,
Welcome to our QACI
community! It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of
introduction to you as the Year 10 Coordinator for 2020. For those of you who do
not know me, my name is Corinne Jennings, and I have been with QACI since 2012
teaching in Business Management. I have nearly 20 years of teaching experience
in the Queensland State system in a variety of roles including Subject Teacher,
Year Level Coordinator, Connect Coach and Curriculum Head of Department. I have
two children of my own in primary school I am delighted to be Year 10
Coordinator this year and look forward to supporting the current Year 10 cohort
through their journey at this wonderful school.
This year is going to
bring an amazing transformation while the Year 10 students embrace new
experiences. They will understand new ways of learning in a curriculum that is
rigorous, relevant, and will help them build relationships while making
real-world connections. My goal is to enable students to meet the challenges of
academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.
Students at QACI are
fortunate to face numerous opportunities that I encourage them to embrace and
pursue. As an IB student and future global citizen, it is important to remember
that learning is more than the sum of what happens in a classroom. The
Aquafest, Runfest, Talentfest, arts excursions, guest speakers, competitions,
health and well-being activities are opportunities for students to connect with
others and create memories that will live with them beyond school. I was very
proud to see students embrace these opportunities during Year 10 Camp and have already
observed their growth during this time.
I very much look
forward to working with you and the students this year. My role is to liaise
between home and school to ensure student well-being is at the centre of your
child’s progress throughout the year. Please feel free to call or email me
throughout the school year.
