During their second week at QACI, Year 10s participated in a 3 day ICT Induction. During the first two days, they have created 3D models and experienced virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality environments. The 3D design workshops were conducted by Steve Iuliano,  the Head of Professional Learning for a range of companies including School Locker, Harvey Norman and Mac1.

Steve's vast experience in creative industries, as a musician and teacher and as both an Apple and Windows training specialist gave our students a unique learning experience. In addition, all students learned Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator basics in workshops led by five of our Alumni who gave up their time to return to QACI and pass on their considerable expertise.

Naomi Mackenzie, Sunday Jemmott, William Finn, Milo Holmes and Perrin Tarlinton are themselves either working in creative industries or studying creative industries subjects at UQ or QUT. At the end of each day, the Year 10 students shared their projects, demonstrating their creativity and innovation. It was a productive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Students will now extend these skills in their IB Learner Program which will focus on 3D design and iBooks authoring in Term 1.
