And were back! 2021, we made it. Today (Mon 1 Feb) was just a beautiful day of warm welcomes, giant smiles and good old QACI traditions. As our school welcomes a new cohort each year it is tradition for the current school community to clap the new flock members in. Although it may have looked a bit different this year due to the ever-growing size of the student and teacher body, the passion and love is still evident. Clap-in day is such a wonderful time to see QACI'S community spirit come alive and as a Year 12 student it brings up some very fond memories. It certainly is a time for the current Year 11's and Year 12's to reminisce on their clap in memories as well as remember the growth they have experienced since their first day.
The clap-in is a monumental moment in the life of a QACI student as it sparks the beginning of new memories, opportunities and relationships. For Year 10's it's one of their first full experiences of the QACI culture at play in the school community and to see the joy and smiles the clap-in brings to not only the Year 10's but to the older students and teachers is such a joyous time of the QACI calendar. Although it was sad to see my final clap-in take place it completely reignited my love for the culture and the sense of community our school prides itself in.
