Year 10 and Year 11 Dance Students treated a restricted COVID-19 QACI audience to a thought provoking and an awe-inspiring technical dance showcase this term. Performing a triple bill, students took to the stage demonstrating the culmination of grow and development these emerging artists have been through this year. With change and adaptability these students overcame the difficulty of circumstance this year. Students were able to challenge their technical ability and learned a diverse range of expressive skills with the opportunities they had working with Independent Artists Joe Simons and Jacob Watton and LI Projects Chloe Lanham.
Studying International Baccalaureate Dance at QACI provides students with opportunity to explore and experiment with dance composition in a variety of contexts. Working within their composition portfolios we saw some outstanding emerging young choreographers take to the stage. If you were lucky enough to be a member of the audience you can relate to the contagious energy and zest these performers bought to the stage. The continual flow and quick scene changes gave the performance an added robustness, clearly highlighting the effort these passionate and consummate dancers gave when delivering their showcase.
