QACI's Student Investiture Assembly is an important occasion to recognise the value our learning community places on active and supportive leadership.

Elizabeth Pico Gonzalez, Year 11 provides her reflection of the event.

The Student Investiture Assembly is an event where the QACI community comes together to celebrate the wonderful examples of leadership, talent, perseverance and teamwork that help make our school as amazing as it is.

Thursday’s assembly was kicked off with a welcome speech from our very own Principal Mr Gavin Bryce, acknowledging, not only the achievements of our students, but the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generation – a very important event and demonstration of leadership and unity.

As all at QACI cheered on enthusiastically, the 2020 student governance teams took to the stage. Those recognised included: the Year 12 cohort, the ICT Student Leaders, the Tech Team, the Student Media Team, the House Managers and, of course, the Student Directors.

In between presentations, some of QACI’s very talented musicians, Harper Kodicek, Aarya Dath and Lauren Towns, put on superb musical performances.

We also had the pleasure of hearing an incredibly moving speech given by Carmen Yip, QACI's 2019 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Dux recipient. She provided insight to the IB Diploma, what it truly means to be a member of QACI's vibrant community and motivated us all to work our hardest and truly believe in ourselves this year – and all those to come.

Last, but most certainly not least, the Year 12 cohort were recognised for their hard work and resilience over the last few years. We were all left feeling especially encouraged to take on 2020, thanks to an inspiring speech from the Year 12 Student Representative, Caitlin Baptist.

It was so great to see all of QACI supporting their peers, who make us all so proud every day, and to get the chance to show off our famous QACI spirit to all those in our community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event so awesome!
