On Friday the 26th of April, Year 11 theatre students participated in a QACI tradition known as “East Meets West Theatre Fest”

Each year, students showcase the assignments they have been rehearsing in class.

The assignment required students to research an Eastern style of theatre, then choose either an Elizabethan, Jacobean, or Ancient Greek play and perform it their chosen Eastern style.

The purpose of the task, to expose students to another culture’s style of theatre.

Many students described the task as challenging but rewarding. It has taught students to be more independent, as they had to self-learn the practical aspects of the Eastern styles.

The performances took place on campus and were open for public viewing, allowing friends, family and the general public to see the students work. In the end, it was a celebration within the cohort, completing their first public performance of the year.
