Congratulations to Emma Chen, Year 11 who submitted a witty and meaningful t-shirt design to the Design for Change National Tree Day X HUMIFORM T-Shirt Design Competition.
National Tree Day X HUMIFORM is Australia's largest community tree planting and nature protection event with Schools Tree Day taking place on Friday 31 July and for National Tree Day taking place on Sunday 2 August.
Designs from the submitted finalists are voted on with winning designs printed on limited edition t-shirts, sending a message about the environmental change young people wish to see.*
Emma's design, themed and focused around our Dependence on Trees has been shortlisted as one of the top 15 national finalists.
Emma says "We often forget and easily take trees for granted without realising that we would not be able to survive without them. They provide us with all our necessities such as oxygen, store carbon and provide us with resources whilst also supporting our wildlife. Essentially they are what keeps our heart beating."
Emma's design is thought provoking in it makes us re-think the importance of trees as the heart-life of our society. The design that receives the most votes will be turned into a t-shirt for change.
Voting is open until 11pm Friday 29 May. Our community is encouraged to visit https://humiform.org/ to vote for Emma's design today.
