Creative Problem Solving through Practical Exploration

Congratulations to the Year 10 theatre ensemble for a fabulous performance of Occupied Frequency this term. Working with professional artist and dramaturg Lucas Stibbard students were guided under the lens of a fictional civil-war that has dragged on for half a decade to try and realise the feelings that would come to the surface if they were to experience such a scenario.

Students who study theatre at QACI learn how to work as part of an ensemble, to negotiate and creatively problem solve through practical exploration. Trust and integrity are fundamental qualities of the ensemble and as these year 10 students bonded in their performance, the commitment to perform was evident and a strong emotional audience response ensued.

Stibbard says "It is testament that these young people, having moved schools and got through a year of tumult and almost a term of online learning have kept their good-humour, their drive to grow and learn and their desire to articulate a plan for a better fairer and safer tomorrow".

Well done year 10 theatre!
