You will be aware by now, that the situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and so we will continue to take advice from government authorities.
The current advice is that attendance at school is a positive for community health. Therefore QACI will continue to operate but with increased measures aimed at supporting the health and wellbeing of our students and staff.
The increased measures are outlined below and will be implemented as of today:
QACI will no longer hold full school Assemblies or year level Assemblies.
Classes will be conducted in a way that supports the practices of Social Distancing. Measures include staggering access to the Cafe and reviewing co-curricular practices.
We continue to promote appropriate hygiene practices and I ask that parents continue to support us on these measures. Most importantly, this includes keeping students at home if they are exhibiting flu-like symptoms.
The school has secured extra supplies of personal hygiene items such as hand soap, hand sanitiser, tissues and paper towel and cleaning staff have been briefed on the increased routines for high impact areas.
All performances scheduled for this week which involve community gatherings are cancelled until further notice, including showcases, excursions, P&C and School Council.
We will communicate with parents and students moving forward around other events that are scheduled for later this term.
We are committed to teaching and learning and have procedures in place to support delivery of the curriculum online.
From today, I ask that students ensure they take home their laptop and other necessary equipment each afternoon to ensure that all students are fully prepared to study from home if the need arises.
We will have a full staff meeting this afternoon to determine the arrangements for those students whose families have decided to self-isolate.
We seek your support to await further communications and directives from QACI as informed by government authorities.
As always, the safety of our students and staff is our first priority. We thank you for your support and cooperation during this time.
