The Modern Language Teachers Association of Queensland (MLTAQ) is the peak professional body representing teachers of Languages throughout the state.

On Sunday 20 August, they hosted the MLTAQ Languages Speech Contest Gold Coast involving many schools and languages throughout Queensland.  This is the second year that students from QACI have taken part in the event.

With participation from three Year 12 students Vrinda Eswaran, Shynae Ryder and Josephine Mabin and two Year 10 students Laila Steele and Ruby Sinclair QACI would like to congratulate these students on their polished speeches and presentation.

Congratulations to Josephine, Year 12 for her first place in the Ab initio category and to Laila and Ruby, Year 10 for their first and third place wins in the Year 11 competition category.

The main focus of the IB language acquisition course at QACI is the development of proficient language skills through the study and use of a range of written and spoken material.
