April, I was fortunate to facilitate a three day ‘Auditions and Acting’ workshop, as a
member of the teaching team from the Redlands Acting and Drama Academy.
In this dynamic workshop, I enjoyed building relationships with
enlivened students, to enhance their audition monologue and and assist them on the requirements of an audition tape.
I worked as part of a high-powered teaching team, where I
felt driven to contribute towards the design and implementation of
effective workshop exercises. I felt invigorated when my ideas were
accepted and contributed towards the lesson plans.
I drew upon my
knowledge acquired in my QACI theatre/film classes, and personal
auditions experience, to make these effective contributions. I
thoroughly enjoyed the laughter and energised discussions that flowed
from watching the audition tapes and seeing the excited faces of the
This experience has allowed me to infect these students with
my passion for acting. I thoroughly enjoyed the learning journey that I
took with these students. This has energised me to continue as ‘Mr
Vincent’ each week to teach many of these students in theatre classes.
Together, we grow as artists in our passion for the arts.
