As well as participating in our Community Action Service CAS program, students at the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries are developing projects with a range of community and arts organisations.

Diverse initiatives include:

  • participating in the Queensland Cancer Council Relay for Life
  • attending art exhibitions in the Creative Industries Precinct, and
  • representing the Academy at the launch of the Smart State Ambassadors Program.

Student participation is integral to "living our vision" and will contribute to students' electronic portfolios.

Our CAS framework is strongly aligned to our House and Care structure. Our students meet weekly through the house system to develop a house-based longitudinal project that extends their leadership skills through service. These project are rich and varied and allow students to explore their business skills in mobilising arts and community-based service projects overseas.

Bright Sparks

At the Academy, we are committed to educating the whole family.  On February 4, over fifty parents joined us in a fabulous seminar, lead by the Buzan Centre's master trainer Jennifer Goddard. Jennifer's lively presentation outlined the obstacles to effective study and how we can unlock the creative potential of our brain through visualisation techniques including mind mapping. She also led seminars with all our students and staff as part of our Orientation Program
