Education Queensland is committed to the provision that ensures all young Queenslanders have a right to and receive a quality education.

As a step change in the model of State Schooling the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries strives to become a key part of the creative, innovative, enterprising and cultural hub in our state.

It aims to do this by providing a rich environment for Queensland's high performing students.

We seek to create an educational environment most likely to guarantee student success in the 21st century.

Policy development at the Academy is influenced by:

  • Our vision for higher learning
  • The larger government and systemic visions for education
  • The philosophy of the International Baccalaureate which forms the core curriculum component of our Academy.

At the Academy, we have established a unique vision and social environment that allows creativity and innovation to flourish with a global outlook.

Our policies seek to create an environment that is stable and secure enough to allow continuity of effort, yet diverse and broad-minded enough to nourish creative investigation and thought.

This links with the philosophy and vision of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO): students should share an academic experience that would emphasise critical thinking, intercultural understanding and exposure to a variety of points of view.

The IBO's goal is to provide students with the values and opportunities that will enable them to develop sound judgment make wise choices, and respect others in the global community.
