Welcome to an exciting new step change in public education in Queensland.

The Queensland Academy for Creative Industries provides a differentiated educational pathway and a rigorous, enriched academic and creative learning environment. At our Academy, students will develop skills and aptitudes necessary to become the pathmakers rather than pathtakers in the 21st century.

The Academy curriculum is rich in programs and experiences that develop a creative generation - a generation of analytical, creative leaders who demonstrate an enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.

Our curriculum combines the base study of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with tertiary studies and real-time learning within cutting-edge industries, the corporate sector and the arts community.

Our students don't just learn their craft. They also work within an Academy culture that values individual and group endeavour, recognises and values difference and promotes social responsibility.

The Creative Industries Academy recognises and understands the needs of our students. Young people who are 14 to 17 years of age have incredible potential and drive, but need life balance. They need to laugh, play, socialise, enjoy their youth and find their identity.

We believe very passionately about the value of strong relationships, collaboration and compassion. Only when there exists an environment where each individual is known, understood, cared for and challenged as if they were the only enrolment, have we achieved our vision for the Academy.

As Principal, my fundamental baseline level of service is to treat each individual and provide a level of care and understanding as if they were my own son or daughter.

Our Academy also recognises that it "takes the whole village to educate a child". Our partnership with our parents is paramount and we will seek every opportunity to welcome them as part of the learning journey. If we are going to unlock the potential of our youg people and fulfil their aspirations, there needs to be a strong sense of teamwork and community about what we do. We need to harvest the fruits of the collective effort.

The detail behind this introduction is waiting to be unpacked within this website. I invite you to explore further our exciting, future-orientated innovation in state education.

Bright Sparks

At the Academy, we are committed to educating the whole family.  On February 4, over fifty parents joined us in a fabulous seminar, lead by the Buzan Centre's master trainer Jennifer Goddard. Jennifer's lively presentation outlined the obstacles to effective study and how we can unlock the creative potential of our brain through visualisation techniques including mind mapping. She also led seminars with all our students and staff as part of our Orientation Program
