CALLIGRAPHY: The Art of Beautiful Handwriting

This 3 hour workshop was for students who want to write beautifully with a calligraphy pen.  Activities provided a finished artwork for inclusion in visual arts portfolios.
It focused on how to make a variety of lettering styles using chisel point calligraphy pens and large brushes.  The art of the Illuminated Letter was also explored.

Students :
• mastered the basic skills needed to use the pens and brushes effectively
• learnt how to adapt these in different styles of writing
• explored the art of the illuminated letter and manuscript
• designed and hand lettered a large scale work
