As a Queensland Government ‘Smart State‘ initiative, the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries is situated amid the QUT Cultural Precinct at Kelvin Grove and was opened in 2007.

The Academy supports a high end technology environment with teaching and learning empowered by integral use of ICTs.

Through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program,<link to http:www.ibo.org > a technologically rich curriculum is delivered in a context of higher learning in the Senior Phase.

All Academy staff integrate ICTs into teaching and learning, with on-line Courses through the Learning Place developed and used by all faculties and accessed as a part of everyday learning by all students.

With a high degree of advanced technological skills, academy staff create an environment of shared pedagogical practice and collaborative ICT-based methodologies.
