URBAN NOISE

WHERE: QACI Art Gallery, 61 Musk Avenue, Kelvin Grove

WHEN:  officially opened Thursday, 12 March, 2009

URBAN NOISE was a dynamic exhibition of artworks by Year 10 students from The Queensland Academy for Creative Industries.

Installed by a student curatorial team, cur:8, this dynamic multimedia event was based around the sights, sounds and sensations of urban life.  The works included mixed media paintings, drawings and machinima animations from 2007 until 2009.  They reflect the students' experience of living and studying in the city.  The curatorial team transformed the gallery into a condensed urban environment, dense with textures, light and sounds that blended the individual works into an immersive installation.  Viewers could even get involved by adding their own piece of graffiti to ‘The Alley’.

The exhibition was officially opened by cur:8 and Principal, John Jose to a packed gallery.
