The Queensland Academy for Creative Industries invites you to attend Living Libraries.

In their first public performance the Year 10 Ensemble will take over the corners and pockets in and around Brisbane Powerhouse.

Based on the global movement of living libraries where prople, instead of books, are checked out to create mutual understanding through the act of storytelling, this performance promises to be one of the Academy's most intimate and moving works this year.

Drawing on their personal narratives the Year 10 Ensemble will engage with members of the general public to create brief moments of personal exchange. Each performer will take on the role of a living book. Audience members can come in and 'borrow' a performer out. Performer and audient will then travel to a specific location around or in Brisbane Powerhouse to begin a unique experience of performative story exchange.

These powerful, personal tales create a rich history of our community.

Audience members are invited to meet outside the entrance to Brisbane Powerhouse to be directed to the performance sites.

Please note that this is a FREE site-specific, durational performance with no seating.

NO BOOKINGS are necessary, but please allow 90 minutes to see the various performances installed around Brisbane Powerhouse.
