QACI's first group of graduates were our foundation Year 11 students of 2007.
They are a part of a worldwide community of graduates that have received International Baccalaureate® diplomas or certificates since the foundation of the IB in 1968. More than 55,000 students graduate from IB programmes every year.

Queensland Academy for Creative Industries at Kelvin Grove soared to the top of the 2008 chart in its inaugural entry, with 98 per cent of its students receiving an International Baccalaureate Diploma or IBD.
The IBD, which is recognised at universities internationally, is included for the first time in the Schools Report this year.

John Jose, principal of the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries, which made its debut in the 2008 School Report through the inclusion of IBDs and their first Year 12s graduating last year, said the academy tried to "challenge", "excite" and "extend" students around the IBD curriculum.
The QACI, which requires students to sit a general test and submit a portfolio before they are accepted, was Queensland's top academic state school in 2008, as 98 per cent of their Year 12 students received an IBD.
