Academy profile

Back

The Academy community is influenced by Peter Ellyard who commented in his paper of 2006 entitled Preparing the Next Generation for 21st Century Success...

"For a young person to thrive in the 21st century and to achieve well being, we believe that a young person needs to develop skills and capabilities to realise a complex range of interrelated educational outcomes; in order to embrace a personal value system compatible to 21st century realities. This paradigm, called 'Planetism,' determines the nature of future markets, industries and ethics.

The next generation

The Queensland Academy for Creative Industries (QACI) is not only producing the next generation of successful artists, musicians and filmmakers; but also event managers, corporate leaders and innovative business people who are self starters and path makers in a dynamic and volatile global economy.

They work within an Academy culture that values individual and group endeavour, recognises and values difference and promotes social responsibility.

QACI Queensland's top academic state school

The Queensland Academy for Creative Industries is positioned at the top of the academic ladder according to the Queensland Studies Authority 2008 Report on Year 12 Outcomes.

QACI's results in the two criteria: 'Percentage of OP/IBD students who received an OP 1 to 15 or an IBD' and 'Percentage of Year 12 students who were awarded one or more QCE, IBD or VET qualification;' are the highest of any state school in Queensland.
