The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Arts, now in its 24th year, have led to widespread recognition of the excellent work produced by senior visual art students around Queensland. In 2014, more submissions than ever before were submitted into the awards and they have been showcased in eight regional exhibitions. The Metropolitan Region was responsible for 30% of the state entries and 3 QACI students received commendation awards – Sean Turner, Elia Roehrs and Jordan Asnicar.
Alice McGowan received an Excellence Award from the State Selection Panel and has been selected as one of the 33 works from the state to be displayed in GOMA in 2015. As part of the Awards program all award recipients will be invited to attend the regional student workshop to be held later in the year. This workshop provides students with an opportunity to learn new skills and further their knowledge. Currently Alice’s work is on display in the Ipswich Art gallery for Sept/Oct along with the other 17 Metropolitan Regional Excellence Award winners.
